4 Hr Ethics Training Course

Course Description:  Section 2188 of the California Code of Regulations was amended in June 2006.  An ethics continuing education course will be required for agents and brokers whose license term expires on or after January 31, 2007:

• Life Agents and Fire/Casualty Broker-Agents must complete four (4) hours of ethics training during each two-year license term.
• Personal Lines Broker-Agents will be required to complete two (2) hours of ethics training during each two-year license term.

The training will be part of, not in addition to, the California resident agent's current continuing education requirement.   More information about compliance with these requirements is available on the California Department of Insurance web site - Ethics FAQ.

This course has been designed to fulfill the new 4 hour ethics education requirement.  It will reinforce a producer’s ethical competence,  contribute to a producer’s understanding of the complexities of ethical decision-making in the insurance industry, and will provide tools to help an insurance professional identify, prevent, and constructively resolve ethical dilemmas.
