4 Hr Annuities Training Course

Course Description:  California law now requires an initial 8 hours of California specific annuities training and 4 hours continuing training in the subsequent license term.  This course fulfills the 4 hr education requirement for all California Life agents who sell annuities.   The law requires training in annuities; California law, regulations and requirements related to annuities; prohibited sales practices; and fraudulent and unfair trade practices.  More information about compliance with these requirements is available on the California Department of Insurance - Annuity FAQ web site.

This course is designed to specifically address the series of annuities topics that meet the requirements of SB 620 (Scott, Chapter 547, Statues of 2003), annuities, life insurance, required disclosures and prohibited sales practices.  It will cover such topics as:

• Comparison of fixed, variable, indexed annuities and their impact on consumers
• Annuity contract provisions and their impact on consumers
• Required disclosures; fair and unfair sales practices
• Annuity sales practices and prohibitive sales practices
• Policy Cancellation and Refunds
